| | I started off the series thinking, WOW, this is straight up porn, hard-core porn! It was almost too much for me to read but I guess thats what you get when you buy Erotic. I kept reading the series though because I liked the back story about the Breeds. I have a few questions though....I don't understand why all the Breeds live under one roof when most of the media hates them....doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't you want to spread everyone out so they're not all killed in one shot? And can someone please explain how you "knot" someone....I don't even know if I'm picturing it correctly. What I am picturing sounds really painful, not arousing. As for the sex...here we go. In the beginning, Dash and Elizabeth both had feelings for each other, though never spoke of them or acted on them. No kiss, no touching, nothing. Then Dash is in the shower and hears Elizabeth come in and instead of cursing her out or threatening her with her life, he threatens to her that hes going to F**k her so hard if she pulls a stunt like that again....Um, excuse me? But I have never been threatened like that before! That just turned me off after that. It was so random, out of the blue. Then with the constant threatening that he's going sodomize her. If that was me, I'd be running for the hills! I'm going to continue with the books that I already bought but after I run out I won't be buying the rest. There are so many ways to incorporate sex into a book, but like that? Come on. |
| | OMGOODNESS!!! I give this book 7*******! This book was awesome from beginning to end. Very touching, gripping, heartfelt. & the love scenes HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But of course if ur reading Lora Leigh then that's a given. Dash is MY MAN!!! All of the main characters I love in this story. Especially Cassie. I've never read a book with a child character so well developed. All of these characters are 3 dimensional. There was never a dull moment for me in this book. I cared about Dash, elizabeth, & cassie immediately. Their stories and involvement in the overall plot of this series was well fitted and played. This story was well written, & thought out. I don't want to ruin it for those who have not read this one, so I will just say READ IT! You will not be sorry :) |

| This book was also my introduction to Lora Leigh. And interestingly, I was able to purchase it at the local Target store several years ago. (Unfortunately, Target doesn't stock this publisher's books anymore, at least not in my area.)
I picked this book off the shelf solely because of it's cover, having no preconceived idea as to the story line, or even this author's prior works... but became so intrigued that I immediately ordered all the Breed books prior to this one!
Having now caught up with the series (and there are 15 Breed books and 5 anthologies) I now realize that, while all the books are stand-alone tales, Elizabeth's Wolf is more so, with only brief references to the over-arcing plotline that weaves through the entire Breed series.
If you enjoy plausible science in your SciFi (ie, read up on the Human Genome project and the recent experiments in DNA), a real romance, and some breathtaking intimate scenes...you'll enjoy this book!
I'm looking forward to the next book (Lion's Heat) which will be released in April 2010. |
