The perfect gift for the legions of fans of the Rolling Stones: timeless wisdom and spiritual beliefs inspired by one of the world’s great survivors, Keith Richards.

What is a wise man? What is a prophet?

Someone with a strange, unflappable demeanor. Someone who speaks in cryptic koans, words whose meanings take years to unravel. Someone who has confronted death, God, sin, and the immortal soul. Someone unfit for this world, but too brilliant to depart it. Someone, in short, like Keith Richards.

Here, at last, the wisdom of this indefatigable man is recorded and set forth. These are his visionary words: “I would rather be a legend than a dead legend.” Or “Whatever side I take, I know well that I will be blamed.” And—indeed—“I’ve never had a problem with drugs, only with policemen.”

Not merely a compendium of wisdom, this book is also a complete guide to the inner workings of a complex and inspired belief system, and the life of a man sanctified by fame. What Would Keith Richards Do? reminds us to learn from our mistakes, let our instincts lead us, and above all, do what Keith has done better than anyone—survive.

Surprisingly life affirming book..and funny!2010-08-315 / 5
There's some thumbs up to life, and some laughing at life.
Some favorites from the book:
"It's good to be here. It's good to be anywhere."
"I never turned blue in someone else's bathroom, I consider that the height of bad manners."
"People hate themselves. If they didn't hate themselves for doing smack, they'd hate themselves for eating carrots."
"Art is just short for Arthur."
"The more you get in Mick's face, the more makeup he puts on."
"Show me a woman who is faithful, and I won't believe you."
"I never had a problem with drugs. Only with policemen."
"Mick's rock. I'm roll..... it's the roll they always forget about."
"Rock n roll: music for the neck down."
"Love wears a white stetson."
"Suddenly the world went from black and white to technicolor." (on first hearing Little Richard and Elvis.)
"He was stealing my headlines." (on Sid Vicious)
"The artist has a blank canvas. The writer has reams of paper. The musician has silence."
"I'll write all their epitaphs." (on people who make fun of his Most Likely To Die role)

This is not a book about how to hang from a chandelier (well, maybe, in some parts...) but mostly it is about Life. Fun reading, very good information, and funny. The surprise is that in some ways, it is, surprisingly, about clean living! (and if you can't live clean...at least in how to be honest about it!....)
Great quotes. Can be returned to again and again. It's a rock and roll book, and it's an affirmations/self esteem book, and it's a humor/parody book, all at once!
Outstanding Book, VERY Entertaining Concept.. of Keith2010-08-175 / 5
A wonderful book with philosophical depth and reasoning, full of delightful quotes by Keith and wonderful wisdom based on "his Legend".. The author is clearly a knowledgeable fan and delights devoted fans with excellent 'in-jokes' yet keeps it light-weight enough for general readership to enjoy and draw wisdom from. Others I've shared this with always enjoy the funny witicisms from Mr. Richards and this makes the most PERFECT gift for any Stones fan. Definitely to be shown off on mantles, displayed in dens, or kept close on the night stand for regular nocturnal readings. Extremely hard to put down, easily the most important book I've read in the last few years.

Well, don't just sit there and read this... BUY IT. You'll be happy you did.
Cool book. Nice as a father's day or graduation gift.2010-06-185 / 5
Enjoyed this book very much. Received as a father's day gift, and then chose to get some copies for graduation presents. Abe Lincoln, move over. There is a lot here that can be returned to time and again. And pretty darn funny, too.
What would Keith Richards Do? The answer is not drugs.2010-05-055 / 5
That would be the easy answer, but there's way more to it than that. So much more that it comes almost as a surprise. Keith Richards is one of the funniest, wisest, most enlightening characters, not only of the contemporary pop culture arena, but of wit and wisdom's bigger stage. Yes, sure enough, there's some great satire here, especially in the idea of the Daily Affirmations, but living life the Keith Richards way-- I mean, through his philosophy-- not necessarily his "behavior" (even HE says "Don't try this at home!!" when referring to some stuff he does)-- is surprisingly, very sound-- and very often, warm and fuzzy! Good collection to a library of satire books, wit and wisdom, and, Keith Richards biography (almost everything you need to know about him is here).
Great insight into the mind of Keith Richards2010-05-015 / 5
One of the best books I have read (and I have read many) about the greatest rock star the world has ever known. Keith is an amazing animal. This book reveals many insights as to what went into the making of the man, the myth & the legend that has become Keith Richards.

Buy it , read it, you WILL enjoy it !
