New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole enraptures again with this seductive tale of a fierce werewolf prince who will stop at nothing to protect the lovely archer he covets from afar.
A DANGEROUS BEAUTY...
Lucia the Huntress: as mysterious as she is exquisite, she harbors secrets that threaten to destroy her -- and those she loves.
AN UNCONTROLLABLE NEED...
Garreth MacRieve, Prince of the Lykae: the brutal Highland warrior who burns to finally claim this maddeningly sensual creature as his own.
THAT LEAD TO A PLEASURE SO WICKED....
From the shadows, Garreth has long watched over Lucia. Now, the only way to keep the proud huntress safe from harm is to convince her to accept him as her guardian. To do this, Garreth will ruthlessly exploit Lucia's greatest weakness -- her wanton desire for him.

| I love this book and often re-read it. I enjoy the play between the main characters! I can't wait for the next book because of the new twist at the end! Love it |

| I've read every book in this series and I was inspired to finally write a review after reading Pleasure of a Dark Prince. While I've loved every one of the Immortals After Dark series, mainly due to the great chemistry Kresley Cole creates between the characters, the plot in this one stands out. From the moment Lucia and Garreth get to the I couldn't stop reading. There were so many interesting plot twists and interesting characters and it really had me on the edge of my seat, unlike the other books where I was interested in finding out how the two main characters would resolve their conflicts. This book gets extra points from me because it's made me look VERY forward to the next. |

I can't say what my favorite parts are without giving spoilers, so I'm going to be vague: I loved it!
I have been looking forward to Lucia's story since the beginning and Cole gave her a better back story then I could have hoped for (as always). This is one of those traveling books, and I hate that, but it wasn't so hard on me because they are on a boat most of the time...I don't know why that makes it better. The book also got some of my 5-star themes in there and so that makes up for any adventuring.
Loved the interpretation of the God of the Hunt, El Dorado, and Ramna 1/2. Loved (and missed) how intense each aspect of the story is. Loved when Lucia pealed the skin from her hands like gloves. Loved the boyband joke.
That's all I'll say! |

Lucia swore an oath long ago in order to save her life. Now a Huntress and a Valkyrie, she is never to allow herself to succumb to the pleasure of a man. Lucia's vow keeps her from anything but being chaste and it is all the more painful for Lucia because she knows what will happen should she allow a male to touch her. With her skills as an archer and her sworn oath, Lucia is near about unapproachable. But Gareth MacRieve doesn't care. With one single whiff of her scent on the wind, this wicked shape shifter knows that she is his mate. Lucia, however, is having nothing of it and runs from Gareth.
Never let it be said that a shape shifter will allow his mate to leave him. Gareth chases after and is one step behind Lucia for an entire year. He watches, waits, and yes, wonders why she doesn't want anything to do with him. But he finds out and it is then when things get interesting. With Lucia in danger, Garreth is her hero - and he is a gentleman to boot.
The sexual tension of Pleasure of a Dark Prince alone is enough to make me sweat. Add in Kresley Cole's near infallible storytelling skills and I couldn't put Garreth and Lucia's story down. The relationship of Lucia and her man is riddled with bumps and bruises and yes, even an arrow or two, but the end result is what fairytales are famous for - happily ever afters.
Pleasure of a Dark Prince takes place at the same time as book one, A Hunger Like No Other and frankly, I think Ms. Cole is a genius for writing it this way. Readers are treated to behind the scenes looks and explanations that otherwise were overlooked. Old characters mix with the new and Pleasure of a Dark Prince is a book to be savored over and over again. Reader favorite Nucking Futs Nix is back and to be honest, she either scares me to death or makes me almost die laughing. Either way, I can't get enough of the Immortals After Dark!

| I'll preface my review by saying I absolutely loved the vampire and demon-focused books of the IAD series. 10/10 for those. But for some reason I just can't love the werewolf/lykae ones as much as everyone else seems to, and I truly want to. This book in particular I think was the worst of the lykaes and the worst of the IAD series. I'm not as emotionally invested in this as I was with Cole's previous books. I think it started off good, the first half was great. Second half of the book became too... dare I say it?, boring. It became all about the adventure, about Lucia's personal quest, etc etc. I just find Lucia's story uninteresting. And yes, she was a bit of an annoying character, I couldn't feel anything for her. I think Garreth was fine for the most part but as mentioned he's not one of my favourite Cole heroes by a long shot (give me a Wroth brother or demon ANY day). This book overall was also quite tame in the "heat/erotica" department, as compared to her other books. I've never had to skim through a Kresley Cole book before until now, it saddened me. haha. Because I still love her to bits, she's still an auto-buy no matter if it's about a vampire/witch/werewolf/whatever. Good thing her next book is about a vampire-demon hybrid - it HAS to be awesome, it just has to. |
